Senior Director

Tony Ferguson, Senior Director of Media at Sony Urban Music, a newly formed imprint that merges urban, jazz, and gospel artists signed to Epic Records and Columbia Records, is responsible for developing, managing, and executing television and print campaigns for artists such as Maxwell, Amerie, Nas, Three 6 Mafia, Lyfe Jennings, and Grammy award winning Gospel duo Mary Mary to name a few. In addition, Tony serves on Destiny’s Child’s publicity team, oversees imaging and artist development for his roster of clients. He utilizes his relationships with Editor-n-Chiefs, talent bookers, freelance writers, and critics to secure national magazine covers and features, live TV performances, and album reviews. In addition to building a presence in the media world and consumer market for his clients, Tony manages crises such as hip-hop beefs and rumors. Prior to his current position, Tony was Director of Media with a continuous string of successful campaigns working with Lil Flip, Dead Prez, DJ Kay Slay, Cypress Hill, and Frankie J. Tony was also Manager of Media at Columbia Records and worked with artists such as Blaque, Royce Da 5’9”, and served as media liaison with So So Def Records. Prior to this, he was an assistant within Columbia Records’ media department and supported projects such as Jermaine Durpi, Lauryn Hill, Will Smith, and Wyclef Jean.

 

Tony holds a Marketing degree from San Jose State University located in San Jose, CA.
